It is important to decide on the design parameters like edge, sink type, joint type and overhang when choosing the benchtop/countertop, vanity top and stone island bar.
Edge Profile
– Different edge will give your benchtop and your kitchen a different look.
Waterfall Joint Type
– Butt Joint – This type of joint is available for all type of stones benchtop. (Engineered stone, manufactured stone, marble and granite)
– 45°Mitred Joint – This type of joint is recommended for engineered stone/manufactured stone.
– Shadow line Joint – This type of joint is recommended for engineered stone/manufactured stone.
Sink type
Top Mount/Drop in sink – The minimum recommended distance between the front edge of the benchtop and the edge of the top mount sink is 60mm for engineered stone and 80mm for marble and granite.
Under mount sink – The minimum recommended distance between the front edge of the benchtop and the edge of the under mount sink cut out is 80~100 mm for manufactured stones and 100 mm for marble and granite.
Overhang
Overhang is good for breakfast bar and island bar. It is recommended that the overhang for benchtop should be no more than 300mm.
