AUSKstone Terms & Conditions of Sale

General

  1. Quotation Details:
    • All details in the quotation are as interpreted by AUSKstone’s sales team. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure all items, measurements, and specifications in the quote are accurate.
    • AUSKstone is not responsible for inaccuracies in dimensions or measurements provided by the purchaser or their representatives.
  2. Custom Quotation and Installation:
    • AUSKstone provides quotations based on the specific products selected by the user and customised designs outlined in the provided drawings. Each project is tailored to individual requirements, including material selection, fabrication, and installation.
    • As a result, purchases cannot be made directly on the website. All orders must be confirmed and processed through personalised consultation and quotations.
  3. Variations to Quotation:
    • Any changes to the initial details or quantities in the quote (including but not limited to measurements, material type, or installation requirements) will result in a revised quote or additional charges.
  4. Payments:
    • Payments made with American Express (AMEX) will incur a 3% surcharge.
  5. Cancellations:
    • For cancellations or change of mind regarding stone slabs, a 30% restocking fee will apply if canceled within one week of the invoice date. After this period, no refund will be provided.
  6. Storage Fees:
    • Storage fees may apply if delivery of goods is delayed for an unreasonable time after invoicing.
  7. Site Visits:
    • Quotes include two standard site visits: one for final check-measuring and one for installation. Additional site visits caused by incomplete joinery, appliance unavailability, or other delays will incur extra charges.
  8. Access Requirements:
    • Quotes assume standard access (single storey, no stairs). Additional costs will apply for stairs, restricted access, or if crane services are required.
  9. Off-Cuts:
    • Off-cuts are available upon request, provided the request is noted on the invoice. Storage fees may apply for off-cuts held at AUSKstone’s facility.

Installation

  1. Client Presence:
    • The purchaser or their authorised representative must be present during site visits, check measures, and installation to approve details.
  2. Site Safety:
    • Worksites must comply with safety standards. Non-compliance will result in work suspension and additional site visit charges.
  3. On-Site Preparation:
    • Cutting, sanding, or polishing may be required on-site. The purchaser is responsible for protecting surrounding property prior to the arrival of installers.
  4. Post-Installation Concerns:
    • Any concerns about installation quality or defects must be raised immediately with the installers. After installation, AUSKstone is not liable for damage, stains, or etching.
  5. Defective Materials:
    • If defects in materials covered by the manufacturer’s warranty require replacement, AUSKstone will provide discounted fabrication and installation services, but associated costs remain the purchaser’s responsibility.

Natural Stone Products

  1. Stone Characteristics:
    • Natural stone is inherently unique and may have variations in colour, veining, and texture. Minor imperfections such as pits, fissures, or cracks are natural and unavoidable.
    • The purchaser must inspect and approve the selected slab before fabrication.
  2. Sealing and Maintenance:
    • AUSKstone applies a penetrating sealer at installation, providing partial protection. Maintenance, including re-sealing, is the responsibility of the purchaser.
    • Only mild detergents or neutral cleaners should be used on natural stone. Damage caused by improper cleaning methods or chemicals is not AUSKstone’s responsibility.
  3. Slab Selection:
    • If specific slabs are required, the purchaser must arrange a selection appointment in advance.
  4. Third-Party Supplied Stone:
    • AUSKstone is not liable for defects or damage to stone supplied by third parties during fabrication or installation.

Joints and Finishes

  1. Vein Matching and Book Matching:
    • While AUSKstone strives for optimal vein matching, it is not guaranteed due to slab sizes and design constraints. Book matching is an additional service and must be explicitly requested in writing.
  2. Join Quality:
    • Joins will be sealed with the closest colour match available. Join sizes (typically 1–2mm) may vary based on installer recommendations.
  3. Final Join Positions:
    • Join positions will be confirmed during the check measure but are subject to change based on layout or slab limitations. All changes will be documented and approved by the purchaser.

Payment Terms

  • Payments are required as follows:
    1. 30% Deposit (due at invoice issuance).
    2. 65% Progress Payment (due upon completion of check measure).
    3. 5% Final Payment (due on delivery or day of installation).
  • Each stage of work will not proceed until the corresponding payment is finalised.

Acceptance of Terms

By placing an order and making the initial payment, the purchaser acknowledges that they have:

  1. Read and understood these terms and conditions.
  2. Been informed of all relevant risks associated with stone products and installation.
  3. Authorised AUSKstone to proceed with the supply and installation of products as outlined in these terms.
